If flying "the metal" is your thing; if your heart skips a beat with every tiny whiff of jet fuel; if the thundering roar of a distant airliner brings thoughts of another time, another place, a mere 35,000 feet above... Let Sky take you there.

Pilots of the Line is "more than a well-written compilation of flight tales, Masterson offers unique insight into the human condition. Ultimate freedom and profound loneliness are juxtaposed throughout, clothing readers with the author's sense of contentedness, yet keeping them keenly aware of their own mortality. The tales are invigorating and fresh, and Masterson offers an earnest challenge to reader complacency."--American Literary Press

What they are saying about Sky Masterson:

"Masterson quickly plunges readers into a jet plane's cockpit and whisks them into a world of both wonder and ennui. His breath-taking descriptions paint a sky seen by few, while his observations on life and the perceived insignificance of man are quite poignant."--American Literary Press

Sky Masterson, Tales from the Sky columnist and writer bio

My professional flying experience began while flying turboprops in the Southwest and in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in the 1980's, then onto the Pacific and Asia with a major carrier. Now I am based in the Northeastern part of the United States as a captain for a major airline on the Boeing 737NG. Most of my writing deals in the human element of flying for a living--what it "means" to fly an airliner.
